The town of Tábor is located in the Tábor district in the South Bohemian Region, 50 km north of České Budějovice and 75 km south of Prague. It lies on the Lužnice River. The historic centre of the town, with its perfectly preserved network of winding streets in the Gothic style, is a conservation area.
